Screwpile 2012- Trimaran Nationals

Screwpile is the top sailing regatta in the Chesapeake Bay Region. This regatta is a series of multiple fleets competing for Championships and annual bragging rights. The fleet is more than 100 boats. This year Screwpile had over 150 boats.

31st Annual Solomons Island Invitational Regatta

The DLR Team will be supporting Donald Lawson in the 31st Annual Solomons Island Invitational Regatta. This race is an overnight point-to-point race from Annapolis to Solomons Island, MD. The race Bell for first Fleet begins at 6:45pm. Donald's Fleet will begin at 7:05pm. Donald will be sailing on a Reynolds 33 Catamaran by Skipper Tim Layne.

Maritime Arts Institute Interview

On June 9th 2011, Skipper Donald Lawson was interviewed with the Maritime Arts Institute out on the Chesapeake Bay with CEO Captain, Marcus Asante.

Annapolis to Newport Race

The race provides a diversity of challenges during the 120 miles down the Chesapeake Bay followed by 350 miles in the Atlantic to Newport. The list of winners of this race is a list of the great boats and skippers of offshore racing... . The race will begin at noon at the start off of the mouth of the Severn River south leaving the Chesapeake Light Tower in Annapolis, MD and finish off Castle Hill Light in Newport. Donald will be racing on the 10person crew, 75ft custom monohull yacht called "Donnybrook". For more information please go to www.annapolisyc.org.

Down the Bay Race

The DLR Team will be participating in the 62nd Down the Bay Race for the Virginia Cruising Cup. Donald will be one of the 18person crew on the custom 75ft. monohull called Donnybrook (which is one of the top teams on the east coast)! The race is a distance race from Annapolis, MD to Hampton, VA over a rated distance of 123 nautical miles.

Ebony Photoshoot

DLR was in Annapolis, MD doing a photoshoot and interview with the Global Magazine, Ebony Magazine. Donald was posing for shots that now can be found in October's Editon of Ebony.

US Coast Guard Foundation Regatta

The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to the education, welfare and morale of all Coast Guard members and their families, announced its first annual sailboat race, the Coast Guard Foundation Cup. The Coast Guard Foundation Cup is an overnight distance race, beginning in Annapolis on Saturday, May 14, heading down the Bay and finishing on Sunday, May 15, back in Annapolis. There will be social activities and an awards ceremony held at AYC for competitors and supporters.

Wharton School Leadership Adventure Regatta

Wharton Leadership Adventure Group sailed their annual Corporate Teambuilding Event! Donald and his team of Wharton School students led the fleet with 1st place!
